President’s Greetings
President, the 64th JSPRS Annual General Meeting
Professor and Chairman,
Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery,
Dokkyo Medical University School of Medicine, Tochigi, Japan
The Japan Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is planning to hold the 64th Annual General Meeting in Tokyo next spring from Wednesday, April 14 to Friday, 16, 2021. The venue will be the Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, a five-star hotel famous for its beautiful Japanese garden on its expansive grounds in Mejiro, Tokyo.
In addition to the academic meeting program for Japanese participants, the International Sessions will be held both at the venue and online throughout the 3 days Meeting. We welcome lots of free paper presentations from overseas. Foreign speakers and other registrants can also enjoy the live streaming without traveling to Japan. In the hall of International Sessions, on the first day is presented the educational seminar by American and European masters including PRS Editor-in-Chief. The second and third days are focused on Asian speakers as APRAS session, including representatives of 8 Asian societies as well as free paper sessions.
Due to the spread of infection with new coronavirus COVID-19, the Tokyo Olympics have been postponed for a year. The second and third waves are a concern these days and there has been a major change in the nature of academic meetings. We aim to hold this meeting in the same manner as usual, but we will make International Sessions a “Hybrid” by combining “Real” and “Virtual”. However, the circumstances will be changing time to time. Regarding the meeting, we will be flexible and adaptable to ever-changing situation.
"Evolution", the theme of the 64th JSPRS Annual Meeting, is a word that combines the meanings of inheritance, improvement, development and progress. Based on the foundation that our senior doctors have built up, we hope that it will provide an opportunity for plastic surgery to develop further in the future. We are preparing to make this academic meeting a fruitful one for all attendees. We do hope to see you in person in Tokyo as far as circumstances permit. Anyway, let’s meet at the meeting in good spirits at the venue or online next April. We look forward to your participation.
